What a brilliant thing for the child who made this paper doll long ago to have drawn her holding a bird in her hand. And with one tiny graphite drawing dot for an eye and arc for a brow bringing that bird to life. Wonderful face --and shoes!--on the doll herself, and complete charmer of a top with watercolor painted sleeves and trim, which fits over her head, plain on reverse. She deserves a great old frame of her own, marvelous.
5 3/4" t x 3" w (measured on the square) and in very good condition. C. late-ish 19th c.
