No way could I resist the surface on this one. It's a child scale table, with the three boards on top I might guess cut down from something else with the paint already on them....whatever the case, the salmon colored squares against black field really do it for me! (It seems the salmon paint/stain came first, with the squares masked out and the black paint applied.) The legs of the table were hand-carved, tapering toward the ends, with one leaning in a bit a bit wonkily, but the table still stands stably and square. Good now as a low side table or perhaps a riser atop another table--or one could remove the legs entirely and hang the top on the wall, as satisfying as any game board to me!
