I find this skeletal, rusty, much eroded rifle a rather poignant object—its purpose entirely subverted and its appearance super primitive, looking like a crude shiv with a handle. I don’t know much of anything about rifles so really have no idea the maker or how long it was buried for to wind up like this, but I don’t care much--just quite an evocative thing.
19 7/8” l x 3 3/4” wide at butt of wood handle x 1 1/4” d. The iron is rusty and will flake a bit when handled, but if hung somewhere it should be stable and just fine.
