Thomas Jefferson (I Presume) in Red Coat, Naive Ink and Watercolor in Antique Frame

Regular price $95.00

I take this as a portrait of Thomas Jefferson, who loved a red coat; I don't know for sure, but at a moment when it feels like sight of the founding vision for the United States should not be lost, I'll call him so. Here looking especially quiet and contemplative, with what I take for wall paper pattern surrounding him, and, aside from his rich red coat and gray hair, looking almost as if about to fade into the ether.

Under glass in a nice old wooden frame, as found: 8 1/8" x 6 5/8". All in good condition. Wired for hanging. Found in the Hudson River Valley.
