To me eye quite a charmer of an old primitive stool--I guess I'd call a foot stool, though it could very well have been used for milking. Definitely it was much used, and much valued, with metal plates mending an old split from either side, and an extra piece of wood reinforcing it from below, cut at the corners to accommodate the legs. And with a ribbed texture to the underside of the top, lending the stool a scalloped edge on two sides. With a little old red paint holding on to the surface, and much more visible underneath. Great as a pedestal, or just its own thing.
9 3/4" in diameter x 4 3/8" tall. Sturdy and sound, with the repairs to the split having done their job very effectively, and contributing to a great patina.
