May the Path Way Your Travel be Strewed with Flowers, Antique Punch Paper Embroidery Bookmark

What I most love about punch paper embroideries is that they almost always incorporate text, and the texts are widely varied--and in this case quite long! This is another I dug from the same box as the Carver's Chair bookmark I just listed, choosing it for the combination of its sentiment, very colorful flows, and wonderfully striped urn! A nice vine-like border all around it too. Very sweet, and just the right sort of stocking stuffer I think! Late 19th/early 20th c.

Embroidery itself: 5 3/8” x 2 1/16”. Sewn to a brown ribbon, to make it a bookmark. The embroidery shows a couple of old horizontal fold lines.
