I was drawn to this just formally---all those radial lines, with handwritten locations running along them, and a satisfying interplay of red and black and gray ink, and some blue and brown smears too, against the white card cut into a semi-circle. The locations are mostly familiar ones to anyone from MA: Walpole, Milton, Medway, Foxboro, etc. I believe this would be described as a single point radial survey/map, here completed facing due east, which I believe places our John M. Batchelder's standpipe somewhere around Holliston. I just like this--and seems like a fun point of instigation for going out and exploring every location on it!
Framed as found: 14 1/8" x 9". Paper approx 13 1/4" x 8" . Tearing to the paper on the back of the frame, where I think it has spent most of its life. Plenty of stains as evident, not a pristine or precious sort of thing, but a good one.
