Beautiful Antique Treen Child’s Rattle

I’ve coveted one of these for a long time—comprised of individually carved pieces, akin to a whimsy as well as to an interlocking wooden puzzle, but with the bonus of producing a great sound when shaken. (And it feels a bit like a magic wand, too!) Of the several of these I’ve come across, each has been quite different, and I think the form of this one especially lovely, including for the ball shaped end at top. Others I’ve seen are most often varnished, but, happily, the wood on this one was left dry and has accrued a beautiful warm patina. Mid-late 19th century I believe, and a great gift for a child or for oneself!

6 3/4" l x 2 3/8" w x 1 1/2" d and in very good condition. I've included a short video of it in action as a rattle.
