Hand-painted numbers, rich black on creamy white, terrifically aged surfaces, and double-sided, covering the range of 0 to 5--how not to love? I believe these were likely old scorekeeping numbers, and know they were found in Maine--they look very classic baseball-y to me, but I don't know for sure. I presume there was once a 6, 7, 8 and 9 too, but these are what remain. Beautiful, and good for counting all sorts of things, including marking one's age, up to 54! (and then again at 102!)
Each 12" x 6" x 1/4". Set of 4. First two photos show one side of all then the reverse. Good, beautifully aged condition (better in hand than in photos), with one small surface loss to one of the "1"s. Panels are composed of three layers of wood.
