What I especially love about this partial 19th century penmanship notebook is how modern the hand-drawn block letter alphabets seem, especially in contrast with the beautifully executed Spencerian calligraphy on other pages--as if the former descended from another time and place entirely! I also really love the interplay of the lettering and the printed grids of the paper. I'd be pretty tempted to frame up one or two of these.
13 1/4" x 8 3/8". Four pages total, all pages documented (except blank ones) with the block alphabets done on opposite sides of the same page, and the calligraphic one (third photo) with a blank reverse. Good condition.
