I love that all of these antique doll dresses are yellow, or at least partially so--perhaps the paper doll these were made for had a similar wardrobe in a whole spectrum of colors, but I prefer thinking she only wore the color of sunshine! It is the top center dress that is the most unusual and fine--a paper lace valentine of a dress if I ever saw one! A few were made just to hold to the paper doll via a couple of paper tabs, while a few were constructed to fit over the head, with a front and back side--as documented. Nice that the yellow one with lace collar at lower right shows the date of 1895 on the scrap paper interior, clipped from a church flier. A lovely set, found in NH.
