Poultry Husbandry! PA Student School Report with Three Charming Annotated Pages of Feather Samples

Regular price $120.00

Pure delight finding this one--a study of "Poultry Husbandry" completed by a young Geo. Emrey long ago, I presume as a class assignment (and with lots of renderings relating to the building of a "Penn State" long house and laying house and breeding house and feeders, etc., I presume he was likely a student there.) Of course what really won me are the three pages of carefully mounted and labeled feathers, of different colors and types: hen to cock, red to white to black, breast to fluff to saddle, barred to lace. I love an old herbarium with preserved plant samples, but think feathers are even better! And I would be most inclined to frame these three pages up.  (They also make me want to start gathering feathers to make some of my own!) Very sweet.

Brown paper folder holding his handwritten reports and renderings (a selection but not all documented) measures  11 3/4" x 9". Feather pages measure 11" x 8 1/2" each. Overall good condition, with minor losses and toning. I will carefully wrap each feather page in glassine and package them with care.
