Perfectly Stark, Antique Tintype of Sensitive Looking Young Man

I've got a special weakness for super stark and spare antique tintype portraits that thus feel very contemporary. This one is a case in point, and reminds me, including for the combination of intensity and vulnerability that seem to reside in this you man’s gaze, of the work of Dutch photographer Rineke Dijkstra, which I very much love. Feels beyond time and also hyper present to me, very beautiful. C. 1870s.
