Peace and plenty, how to argue with that? And it looks to me like a pair of bee skeps here, side by side, used to illustrate the phrase--a pair of happy colonies, coexisting in peace. I know this is English, c. 1790s--an early one, painted tin, and a large one,for tobacco or snuff. I love how wonderfully folky the lettering is and those freehand curlicues, perhaps suggesting bees buzzing around!
