I found a forget-me-not/ token of love/friendship along the lines of this one earlier this year, and have kept a keen eye since as I think they're very charming--and not easy to find! Happily, at an estate sale this past weekend I snatched up a handful, which very well might all of have been made by the same person, most likely a young woman, some 150+ years ago or so. Gold foil and paper flowers arranged carefully under glass, lending quite a sense of poignancy and wistfulness to this "farewell". I love how formally akin these feels to antique reliquaries, but all the better to have been made as tokens of affection for the (once) living.
3 3/4" x 2 7/8". Some loss to the paper/foil around the perimeter, but I like it all the better for the wear in combination with the sentiment.
