A sweet little handmade, ribbon tied notebook of "pen and pencil pictures" by a young Lillian Trafton, who appears to have had a special penchant for the phrase "God is love" which crops up a few times! One strawberry--or is it a tomato?--and a pair of scissors too, but otherwise pictures of women and girls, with a few flowers thrown in for good measure. Curiously, accompanying the drawing of a blonde woman in fancy outfit and hat appears to be the phrase "Vulgar Faster"--but perhaps I am reading it wrong (though I would say Lillian's other subjects seem quite chaste in comparison)!
4 3/4" x 3 3/4", 8 pages, drawn on fronts only, plus paper cover. All drawings pictured. Good overall condition. Late 19th/very early 20th c.
