Yum! A great big late 18th century "Armorial" Chinese Export porcelain bowl, typically described as a punch bowl, with a long band of staple repairs extending from one side to the other across the bottom and all the way up to the lip on both sides, plus a few extra around the rim to boot. With finely hand-painted designs in gold and navy, including monograms on opposite sides, and floral sprigs in between and at the interior center. I'm a sucker for staple repairs on all sorts of pottery, but all the more so on a grand bowl like this, which was to no surprise highly valued.
11 3/16" in diameter x 5" tall. Beautiful bright white exterior, with next to no paint loss; more wear to the interior, with some staining as documented.Staple repairs as evident, which is what makes it especially special to me.
