I do believe the most empathetic sewer tile/end of day pottery creature I have ever seen--I have very deep love for this one! I believe its maker likely modeled it on other lambs made using molds (see last photo for an example)--but SO much better to be hand-sculpted, with these wonderfully eager large ears and this heartbreakingly homely face. I'm not sure sewer tile creations get the full attention they deserve--to my mind, what a celebratory thing that factory workers should create sculptures using left over clay at the end of the day, and most especially tender, terrifically expressive creations as full of life as this one. LOVE.
