Photos do no real justice to this one--between the mustard paint and graphicness of the grain painting, it delivers a terrific visual punch. The thickness of the top, combined with the very curvaceous forms of the legs make it feel almost like something else entirely too--I keep thinking of the classically-inspired/deconstructionist postmodern architecture of Charles Moore, say, but also somehow of de Chirico paintings, and also Cubist collages. Probably that's just me, but it feels like something both of its time, mid 19th century country primitive, and totally apart from it, playful, and with a lot of attitude!
10 9/16 x 8 5/8 x 7” t and in good, very sturdy and solid condition, heavy. There is a loss to the surface of the top surface at one corner, as documented- visible from above but not really from the side. It'd put one excellent thing atop it and never notice that corner again!
