Quite a handsome pair, the precise likes of which I've never seen, quite nicely constructed of what looks perhaps like walnut to me, with bright glass eyes, and jointed ears, heads, legs and tails. With their long snouts, they do look a bit like foxes with their ears raised, but surely are meant to be hounds--with a great sense of alertness about them, as if poised to head out on a hunt! Both stand sturdy on their own and the smaller one balances quite nicely on the back of the larger.
Large: 11" l x 7 1/2" t x 2 1/2" w (with ears and tail down.)Small: 8 1/4" l x 6" t x 1 3/4" w. Early-mid 20th century. The smaller one has a small loss the tip on one front leg, minor and not destabilizing, and a bit of roughness to one spot on his tail, also minor. Sold as a pair, friends forever!
