Ernest Trova 1974 Museum of Modern Art Falling Man "Trovascope" Kaleidoscope

Regular price $60.00

I'd never seen one of these "Trovascopes"-- designed by artist Ernest Trova (1927-2009) for the Museum of Modern Art in 1974--and think it's way cool; more artists should design kaleidoscopes, I'd say!  Trova, though, was especially well suited to creating a very graphically satisfying one, with his "falling man" silhouettes lending themselves to all sorts of interesting kaleidoscopic permutations! With an array of other smaller shapes in primary colors, including letters and arrows, mixed in too. What's great here is that it does what the best kaleidoscopes should--produce a very expansive array of effects, continually good as one morphs into the next, and then just shake it to creating a whole different sort of starting point. Very excellent I think.

8 11/16" t x 2 1/4" d widest and in very good, crisp and bright condition, with just very  minor surface wear to the exterior.
