This is a remnant from what I believe was probably a full scale quilt or table covering--long and narrow, which I might just pin to the wall to let hang down, tumbling vertically down the wall! For me, it is the reverse side, showing its construction--with cut paper templates used to form each facet of the blocks, around which silk scraps were wrapped and sewn down--that is the most beautiful, with print on a few of the scrap paper squares. A few seams on this could be carefully pulled to break it down into a few smaller segments if one wanted to more easily frame it; I considered it but decided to leave it alone, and it is really is quite striking just pinned to the wall.
45" l x 7 1/16" w. A few losses as evident and showing general wear, with existing fold lines in a few places. Stable and pretty sturdy, with a good weight to the paper/card used for the templates, which lends it some sturdiness.
