This large mid-century studio pottery platter with fish design would make for a bold and super stylish means of serving a whole fish. I would use it for plenty of other things as well -- perhaps for an arranged nicoise salad, or an array of small bites including good anchovies or sardines! Or hang it on the wall in the kitchen or dining room to enjoy all of the time.
The platter, black glazed with the fish rendered in sgraffito, was beautifully made by hand and signed by Andersen Studio in Boothbay Maine, founded in 1954 and still in operation.
16.35ʺW × 8ʺD × 1.5ʺH; excellent condition.
