This double-sided page of very urgent looking writing and a few drawings too I purchased along with a two page spread sold a few weeks ago--as found, though I wish I had the rest of the notebook they came from! I take this for cipher writing, written using a secret code, perhaps made for passing between one school boy and another. The graphite letters, which appear to have been written while applying a whole lot of pressure to the pencil, overlay what looks like earlier (?) writing on the page in red inked cursive, including the words "Evolution", "Horse, "When" and However" along with a lovely Spencerian alphabet, A-S, near the bottom of one page. I love both the formal qualities and the semiotics of it all (all sort of signs and symbols at play!)
7 3/4" x 6 1/8" and in good condition.
