One more of these mid 19th c. Sunderland plaques because I just can't resist them, and there is a dealer at a shop I frequent in New Hampshire who seems to have come into a whole collection of them and is slowly replacing the ones I purchase with others! And of course this verse about evil doers seems especially timely (though always pertinent!) The text here is from the King James Bible, but in other versions "perfect" is replaced by "man of integrity" or "blameless"--which is just to say one need not be perfect, just not a doer of evil! Crisp and sharp transfer text and wreath with hand-coloring and peachy lustre around the border of the plaque.
9 1/16" x 8 1/8" x 1 1/4". Excellent antique condition. With two holes for threading a ribbon or wire through to hang. C. 1860s I believe.
