Of course an old match box should be encased in matches, each one burned black before being carefully laid down alongside the one before it. To my eye quite a satisfying thing formally, and even better self-reflexive--I'l like to think it was the matches from this very Red & White Brand match box that were used to make it, yielding the empty box!
5 1/8" x 3" x 1 3/4". Very good condition. C. 1940s or so, I believe.
