I had this one in my hands for a few minutes several years ago before selling it; happily the buyer, who has changed his collecting focus since, offered it back to me...and I must say when I unpacked it I fell in love with it again and found it even better than I remembered! Honest construction, clean lines, good age, quite useful, but what really makes it for me is the clover/club shaped cutout, backed with glass--which makes it feel a bit like a bee box too, providing a window through which to glimpse the activity happening within. (Handy of course for seeing whether the mail has arrived, too!) In satisfying old creamy white paint, which appears to have covered an earlier coat of dark red, which shows a bit on one short side. The lid opens with just a little pressure, with a metal latch to keep it tightly closed.
13 1/2" t x 6" w x 5 1/4" d and in very good antique condition, super sturdy and sound.
