Found in Maine, I believe this basket dates to the 19th century and is native to New England. There are a few losses to the bottom, and one lost loop around the lip, but these are not evident from most views, and I'd be more inclined to display it than use it anyway (though its plenty sound to fill with some things and set, or I carried it around the shop where I found it with some light things inside.) Beautiful bentwood handle that makes a 360 degree loop, and gorgeous dark brown color to the splint.
15 3/8" w x 12 3/8” d x 14” t and structurally sound and stable, losses as described and documented.
