I've definitely got a thing for carved marble folk art objects--in part I think because they embody the democratization of a material with very grand historical associations. And hard to get much more democratic than a doorstop! This is a pretty matter of fact one, but with nicely carved corners and this great zig zag sort of detailing around the perimeter of the top and each side. Definitely well used, with a porcelain pull for carrying it from one spot to another, which I believe replaced an earlier one that was just a hair wider where it met the stone. Very useful for holding back even the heaviest of doors.
4 1/2" x 4 7/16" x 4 3/8" tall including handle. (3 1/8" t just the marble block.) Overall good antique condition, with general wear all over and surface dings here and there.
