Lisl's Charming Early 20th c. German Homemade Ink and Watercolor Flower Species Cards

Regular price $80.00

I'm always searching for handmade decks of playing cards of all kinds, and for hand-drawn flashcards too, and these lovely c, 1910s German ink and watercolor cards are like both at once: a rummy-type game of sets, and a lesson in botany--and German--too!  Forty cards total, comprised of 10 sets of four--Violaceen (violets), Löwenzahn (dandelions, etc.)-- with each card illustrating a particular species, its name inked (in perfect Arts and Crafts era font) in black below, with the three other species in its set in green. In beautiful condition, ready for play, and study, and admiration!

Cards measure 3 1/2" x 2 1/2". Set of forty cards, complete I presume as it encompasses 10 different sets of flowers, four cards each. All in very good, bright and crisp antique condition. with one small clean tear to just one card, very minor, documented in last photo.
