Nice to find one of these old articulated figures still on its armature, and here with a hand crank that can be turned to suspend him forever mid air, or lower him to do a lurching sort of jig. With a very crudely carved face, great old blue paint on his pine body, and the beam that holds him punched right through his belly. Early 20th century American, all original, with just a small loss to one toe and a great immediacy and potent presence to it all.
17" l x 3 3/14" d x 7 3/4" (with figure lowered.) Good condition, great patina, hand crank turns smoothly, works as it was made to--not a smooth dancer, but with some trial and error one can get him awkwardly moving!
