The opposite of masterfully carved, but that's why I like it--I would certainly think this was its maker's first (and likely only!) attempt at carving a ball inside of a cage inside of a cage, all from one piece of wood, with a looped handle on the first cage to boot. A for Effort, and both the interior ball and round cage do move around inside the square cage, though mostly with the help of turning the handle. One might keep this one around as encouragement to try new (challenging!) things.
2" x 2" x 2 3/4" t. Plenty of rough spots as there always were, with a few pencil markings here and there.
