I believe this box is 19th c. European, most likely Scandanavian; I am not an expert on bentwood/pantry boxes, but I think the manner in which the end of the wood is secured (known as Svepaskis in Swedish) is indicative of that. There is a carefully (glue) repaired split to the lid, but the green paint and unusual long and low form I think are so lovely, I don't much care.
7 1/2" l x 4 3/8" d x 1 1/4" t. Repaired split as noted and evident, sound and not fragile though one wants to be a little gentle with it.
