This is an original 2-sided late 19th c. oversized print on wove paper, which came from a trade publication titled "The Growth of Industrial Art" published by Sackett and Wilhelms Litho Co. New York, c. 1890. One one side--which is what won me--are renderings of twelve different egg carriers designed and manufactured in the 19th century, some of them representing very elaborate solutions to the problem of keeping fragile eggs safe and sound during transport--and making the cardboard egg carton seem like quite a relief! On the reverse a far more macabre display of nine different means of slaughtering and processing livestock.
17 1/2 x 13 1/2" and in excellent antique condition.
