I found this one in mid coast Maine, where I think most likely it originated, and just love the graphicness of these four black on white loons, two of them with beaks open to the sky--and if you've ever heard the call of a loon, you know what a marvelously evocative sound that is. Surely painted using a stencil, but with hand-painted mustard yellow eyes and a sea foam green border around the beveled panel, which I'd think was repurposed from a piece of furniture. Seems to me a perfect one for hanging in a cottage near the water.
35 3/4" l x 9 1/8". General wear, and some paint loss to lower right corner. Wired on the back for hanging.
