Miniature 19th Century Graphite Studies of Three British Estates by E.T. Billhouse

Regular price $65.00

I’m getting really drawn into the world of 19th century English drawings, and am super charmed by these little miniature pencil drawings of three different estates done by a E.T. Billhouse in 1838. I especially love how there is lots of empty space around them, such that they feel like private little worlds unto themselves, secretly glimpsed through a scope from on far, then rendered under a magnifying glass. Really sweet.

On wove (un-ribbed) paper, about 3 x 4 1/4” each. Almost 200 years old, condition is consistent with age -- some discolouration, with a little surface dirt, scuffing and a tear across the lower left corner of one, as shown. I like them showing all of the paper, but they could also be sweet framed individually or together with peep-hole type matte over top. SOLD AS A SET as I think they are really great together.
