This antique cup, ironstone I believe, is actually one of my favorite recent finds, to my mind constituting "art without intent" for the manner in which crazing to the ceramic has produced this fine network of rust colored lines that run between and among the blue marbled lines patterning the cup, evocative of veins and capillaries inside a body, or fault lines in the earth. That pattern of shaky blue lines is pretty fantastic to begin with--and just seems destined to have given rise to echoes. Love.
3 5/8" d at lip, 2 7/8" t. There's a hairline crack as evident, and wear especially around the lip--all to the good I think if you appreciate the effects as I do.
