A note on the back of the wrapper I found this drawing in attributed it to Alan T. White of Winchendon, MA and noted that is was done in Paris in 1904; I haven't been able to find out much of anything about him, but that's what I know. I just fell in love with the drawing itself--a perfect combination of exactly the sort of thing one might observe on the streets of Paris and a wonderfully concise, rather existential portrait of life's burdens.
9" x 6 1/4", ink and watercolor in excellent condition. Initialed at lower right.
