Found in Mid-cast Maine, probably not very far from where it was painted, early 20th century I would think. I'll never say no to an old folk art seascape, especially where there are boats sailing and seagulls flying--and extra good if painted on a wood panel. An interesting configuration to the rocks, too. Photos really do no real justice; the color has a greater depth and richness to it, with an especially lovely sky, and it is very much about atmosphere and the particular quality of old paint on wood.
12 1/8" x 9 1/4". Unsigned. There is a hanging rope actually glued to the back of the painting but which I've tested a bit and could be pulled off. A couple of very faint surface cracks coming down from the top edge, minor.
