This is a fifth edition copy of The Wizard of Oz, printed by The Bobbs-Merrill Company in the 20s-early 30s (last copyright is 1903), with 208 pages, 8 full-color plates and 8 black and white, plus terrific black and white text illustrations by W.W. Denslow throughout. I remember reading (or, mostly, having my mother read to my brother and me) all of the Oz books when we were kids, and seeing the design and illustrations in this old copy reminds me of both their strangeness and their magic.
The cloth covered corners of this copy are a bit worn, and the upper left corners of chunk of pages a bit flea-bitten (all as pictured) but copies this old are quite rare and I think it is a pretty special thing to own!
9 1/8" x 7" x 1 1/2". Inscribed "To Florence from Aunt Minna Christmas 1933" on first inside page.
