This one is bit worn (the ribbon could be ironed though), but it's pure perfection to me--just the sort of punch paper embroidery I'm always looking for. I assume the side with the Bible was meant to say Every word OF God, but I think is so much better for the extra "f," and then the execution of the flip side, one letter after another with no spaces in between and an extra s in there too, makes it feel rather as if a un urgent transcription of the word of God himself! So good.
Embroidery itself: 2 7/8" x 2 1/16" embroidery. Including ribbon: 9 1/4" l. Wear as evident and the rendering of the book is a bit wonky (maybe a few lost stitches?) but certainly the edges of the ribbon could be trimmed as desired and for me the wear is as it should be. I believe this is a pretty early one, later 19th c.
