Something about a long line of string wound around a stick really appeals, and I believe this is the most beautiful iteration of that I've seen. The carved, faceted dowel, here tapering to sharp points at either end, is quite long, making this really feel like a sculpture with a lot of presence, and the color of the string is makes it feel rather as if born of nature. It also feels very Japanese zen to me. Whether used as a fishing/crabbing line or a kite tether or what I'm really not sure, but I'm very glad it exists.
18 5/8" long x 2 5/8" in diameter. Very good condition, with the string appearing very clean.
