Since finding a sweet old homemade kaleidoscope this summer, I've kept a keen eye out--I find kaleidoscopes magical things, and there is something especially special, and very tender too, about someone having created that magic for themselves! Homemade ones like this have no turning parts; you just turn the whole thing to move the little bits of colored glass around inside, landing in different patterns. Not the most spectacular kaleidoscopic effects ever, but it works indeed (I've tried to take a few photos pointing my iphone through the eye hole) and for me its so much about the aspiration, and the object--this one loaded with love and charm.
5 1/4 t x 2 1/8" d and in very good condition.
