I've found a few others sets of stand-up animals and circus performers dating to the early 20th century, but no other Swiss ones, or boxed sets like this containing so many, with what I believe is an edition number on the box. They really feel little a pretty special set.
Color lithography on a nice weight cardstock, they'd be pretty great marching along the edge of a shelf or two or three, though could also be used as note cards as they feature blank interiors--or as place cards for a very fun and festive dinner party! There are fold lines along the legs of a few, as documented (happily, since they are double sided, you can turn them around to face in the other direction!) and remnants of center tabs of a few (I'd guess these were punched out of sheets), but overall they are in very good condition, and still bright and clean.
Animals measure approx 2 5/8" t x 3 1/4 w, give or take. Box, which shows some wear to the spine but is still holding together and very pretty, measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/8" x 1/2". There is a gold foiled "Made in Switzerland" sticker on the back of the box with the printed number 6349. And a handwritten inscription - "To Edith Werling with love from Frederic," I believe.
