I first picked up this drawing because I just loved the look of the carriage, which looks like it would be quite a fun one to ride around in. A bit of research reveals that it is in fact a Victorian era invalid carriage --I've included an advertisement from the 1890s featuring one very similar, as well as an array of others designed to meet specific needs. The one pictured in the drawing, and the delicate drawing itself, make me think a bit of Little Miss Muffet on her tuffet, and I imagine this is the one she would have chosen to travel in if needed!
7 1/16” x 5 1/6” and in overall good condition, with some scattered stains/toning that I don't think detracts. Signed at lower left but difficult to read.
