19th C. Folk Art Painted Full Plate Tintype of Stern Looking Couple with Bible (in Large Hand!)

I've been eyeing antique painted tintypes like this one lately--which I think have a wonderfully surreal sort of strangeness to them-- so was very happy to find this one at an estate near me this week. A very nice example too, I think, strange feeling indeed, between his hair and beard and her large hands not feeling quite of her body. With what I take for a bible in her hand, painted red--and certainly they look like a devout pair!  Nice gold painted dotting all over her blouse and at her collar too, lending some shimmer.   

8 1/2" x 6 1/2" and in very good condition, with bends just at the corners.
