Just a beautifully crafted, elegant hand-thrown lidded pot, which could be used for cooking and serving, or storing odds and ends, or just for display. I think the combination of charcoal black glaze with soft green around the rim of the vessel and lid and on the lid's center handle is just perfect, and together with the form gives it a bit of an Asian feel, though I believe it is American, signed (incised) PAT on the underside. Very nice.
7 3/8" across at handles, 6" in diameter, 4 7/8" tall. 5 1/4" across at lip. Great condition, with no chips or notable flaws that I can see.
