Handsome Young Couple on Rowboat Outing, Crystal Sharp Albumen Cabinet Photo

I love this for the quality of the photograph, capturing most every leaf and bit of bark with crystal clarity, but also for the fact of its "subjects" nearly disappearing amidst all those trees--good camouflage for an afternoon tryst, I'd say!  Looking closely though, one can make out every detail of this handsome young man in white and young woman in fancy plaid dress—to see that she is the one doing all of the work pulling their row boat safely onto shore, while he holds the rope and seems, with a bit of a pouty expression, to look toward the camera! (Perhaps she ultimately decided to leave him there:)) Rich and full of metaphor!
