Found in Vermont and to my eye a very beautiful thing, which I think I would never tire of looking at, though it's ready for a game of ring toss anytime, too. (You could hang a whole lot of keys from it, too!) Pine plank turned 45 degrees to form a diamond, with white paper numbered squares adhered to the surface long ago and hooks I would guess repurposed from something else nailed into the surface to catch the rings, which, as found, are three rubber sealing rings that would originally have been used from bottling or canning, I believe. For me, it is so much about how the white squares have eroded to become almost like ghosts of themselves, making this wonderfully soft field of pattern against the warm dry pine. With a small handwritten "2", too, and then what look like holes, from dart throwing I'd guess, all over. Another partial game board mapped out on reverse too, painted a a sort of putty pink. Yum.
Approx 19" x 19" . Much worn and aged surface, which is what makes it beautiful. A little minor bowing to the wood, no matter, hangs nicely on the wall via an extra hole at top, or could certainly be wired. More beautiful in person, the white has a wonderful softness about it and a great warm patina to the dry pine.
