Of course it's the very excellent drawings of bunnies in the upper corners that sold me on this 1916 photograph, but also just the the fact of a large chalkboard drawn and written upon in such an excellent way (and the endurance of this photograph documenting it.) It took a while to figure out what was being charted here, but I believe Western & Southern was--and is--an insurance company, with a branch in Louisville, KY, and I believe it is the Easter week assignments/goals/sales statistics of employees likely being recorded. Seems a competitive business too, with the fleet rabbit at upper left named Morgan (whose name appears on the chart below) and the seated one Silverberg, with a question mark after--perhaps a prompt for him to get up and get after it! Unusual and pretty fabulous I think--especially to a left-hander like me who could never write on a chalkboard without smearing the chalk!
8 x 5 3/8" and in good condition with one small loss along left edge toward the bottom.
